Introducing Veld Flora the very first textile collection by Elsje Designs.
Inspired by the South African veld in autumn, the collection draws from fading wild grasses, winter florals, seedpods, and botanical fragments gathered from quiet moments outdoors. The palette leans into earthy ochres, softened olive greens, warm clay tones, faded charcoal, and muted natural hues; colours that feel both grounded and timeless.
Each design begins by hand in our Stellenbosch studio through illustration and mark-making explorations inspired by traditional printmaking techniques.
Veld Flora Table Runner Natural Linen
There's an hour above Jonkershoek in autumn when the proteas catch the low afternoon light — coral, indigo, gold. Veld Flora is drawn from that hour. Pincushions, king proteas, banksias and leucadendrons, sketched by hand and layered the way a printmaker works a plate, printed in eco-friendly water-based pigment inks on soft, unbleached pure linen.
